BAPE BLACK Spring/Summer 2022 Collection greets the crowd with bright, colorful flora patterns inspired by the ‘80s Miami in its latest urban luxury offering.

Drawing inspiration from the “80s Miami”, the collection showcases patterns such as flamingos, tropical flowers and palm trees alongside its signature MAD FACE motif in daring, creative pieces. In addition to the Hawaiian shirt fit, the same themed patterns are featured on various items such as T-shirts and basketball shorts in this cohesive collection.

In a departure from the brand’s usual darker palette, the collection’s original Bandana pattern showcased the MAD FACE and paisley print and utilized the colors pastel pink and green as well as sharp purple and yellow. To further convey the liveliness of Miami, the collection’s jacket and pants have been designed in vintage colors.

Loose-fit cuttings, such as the collection’s silk Hawaiian shirt, highlighted the brand’s sense of urban luxury, while the 925 Sterling Silver collection has introduced a golden glamorous tinge with its rings and bracelets in gold and its bracelet in half silver and gold.

In addition, the BAPE BLACK Spring/Summer collection is enriched by crossover items, such as its loafer collaboration with footwear brand YUKETEN and crossover with silverware brand REDMAN.
YUKETEN was founded by Yuki Matsuda in 1985. The brand brought together traditional American craftsmanship and Japanese design aesthetics. This crossover features YUKETEN’s signature Moc Ischia Loafers design in smooth black leather for a timeless classic. The detailed pleating around the head of the shoe showcased YUKETEN’s premium craftsmanship, while the BAPE BLACK’s signature gold chain replaced the original chain embellishment for a more elegant flare.
Japanese silverware brand REDMAN. was founded by Masamichi Ishibashi, who moved to America in 1950s and fell in love with Native American culture and traditions, which became the central theme of his works. This crossover features a necklace and a chain pendant. The pendant, available in silver and gold, took inspiration from the American Indian culture’s Holy Puff Feather and added the BAPE BLACK MAD FACE motif at the tip, while the necklace in silver is embellished with MAD FACE motif to wrap up a cohesive collection.
BAPE BLACK Spring/Summer 2022 collection will be shortly available in store and online on 19 Feb(Sat).
